Shooting pains in the body would usually be caused by the nervous system. Probably harmeless but if experienced over a long period of time then it is best to seek the advice of a doctor.
Some common causes are:
- Lack of vitamins or minerals
- Lyme Disease can cause sharp pains shooting down the arms and/or legs.
There's no need to worry, but it can be a sign of a more serious problem such as Multiple Schlerosis.
Best advice is to see a doctor rather than worrying about all the "maybes".
