Children Can Benefit From Meditation and Relaxation Too

Taking a period of time to collect your feelings before or after a long day of activities is something most folks should do, but often don’t seem to be able to manage. Teaching yourself some guidelines for meditation and relaxation will help you to organize your thoughts during your busy day, and after you enjoy the rewards of meditation, you may wish to show them to your kids. Here are a few of the best ways to present meditation and relaxation in a fashion that your children will understand.

The first thing you should do is ask your child to lay down. He or she can do these meditation exercises on the bed or on a small scale yoga mat. Your child should lie with their arms placed comfortably along their sides, and their legs in a relaxed position. You should make clear to your child that meditation and relaxation is for soothing the body and mind, and then you can demonstrate some breathing exercises to give your child an illustration of how meditation should be carried out.

Your child should appreciate that these ‘meditation lessons’ with you can help them to be more contented at school, and will even help them to have better mental capacity to solve problems that arise. You can start making use of visualization for your meditation and relaxation at this stage. For starters, you can have your child imagine themselves lying on their back in a meadow full of flowers. Request your little one to close their eyes while you count to ten. This will assist them to concentrate on their breath so that they can enhance their circulation and get more settled.

Subsequent to engaging in some of these relaxation sessions, you can convince your kids to count to ten on their own.
