Four Tips For Picking a Winning Diet

January 10, 2010 by Alfon Carmine

With so many different diets out there, it can be difficult for a health and fitness newbie to know which ones are worth it and which aren\’t. Although thousands of diets promise results, it\’s often hard to tell if they\’re real results or paid testimonials. In addition to that, all too many diets create massive results in the short term but end up with you gaining back almost all of the weight that you lost, and occasionally even more. In order to avoid these common dieting mistakes, it\’s important to pick a diet that will give you results that are both healthy and lasting. These four tips will help you tune through the noise and find a diet and workout routine that works wonders for your health and figure:

One – don\’t believe the hype. This one is especially tricky to follow. When you are having a look at different diets it\’s regularly simple to fall for the gigantic guarantees and flashy results guarantees. Do not fall for it. You might lose the weight in the near term, but it is totally possible that you may gain it all back once the diet is over. Rather than large guarantees, look for evidence the program works long-term.

2 – Pick a diet that fits in with your way of life. This one is completely significant, and regularly gets met with plenty of resistance from dieters. There is a reasonably robust belief in the health community that to get fit, you want to radically change your way of life and dieting habits. That is rubbish. While that may lead to good health, it also leads to early failure and a disability to conform to your new way of life. Baby steps is essential here — if you are not used to dieting, don\’t throw yourself in the deep end. Take it gently and make yourself comfy in your new diet routine.

Three – Let yourself cheat now and then. This is one to treat trivially. If you are doing very well with your diet, and had consistent results after 2 weeks of dieting and exercise, do not feel too bad when you give yourself a chocolate bar. Let yourself have a cheat meal now and then as a rewards, but make certain that you do not let them become habits. Reward yourself for good performance, do not let your cheat meals turn your diet progress around.

4 – confirm your diet includes some type of monitoring. Monitoring calories and exercise hours is an essential part of dieting, but it regularly becomes a fake goal for dieters. When you see 1500 calories on your daily total, it is simple to think you have made it there. What you must do is put your calories and exercise in context. Rather than asking yourself how many calories you have eaten, ask how your calorie total has made you are feeling. With too many diets promising quick results, it is important to mix and measure your diet with your happiness, and avoid overpowering yourself with numbers and milestones too early.

Losing stomach fat and building six-pack abdominals is something that all too many people dream about and never take any action on. While trimming away stomach fat isn\’t the hardest thing in the world, the fitness industry certainly hasn\’t helped people see that. From deceptive ads to truly ridiculous products, the fitness industry is packed to the brim with bizarre and stupid misinformation and dieting myths. While it\’s easy to see the ads and infomercials and think that rock hard abs can only be built using a bizarre fitness contraption, the truth couldn\’t be further from the television spots. Rock hard abs can be built without any fancy equipment, and just by utilising the weights and frames available at your local gym.

Bored with dear trainers and diet programs? Don\’t fret about them any more. What small claims they can essentially measure up to are nothing next to the weight you finish up putting back on once the program is over. Weight Lifting Workouts for Weight Loss?

December 16, 2009 by Thaya Kareeson

Unlike the advertisements on TV, weight lifting workouts are not primarily designed to help you lose weight. Find out why this is the case in this article.

The body’s heart rate and overall fat burning capacity is quite low throughout the weight lifting duration. This is because weight lifting only addresses a few specific muscle groups at a time. If more muscles were to be addressed within the same amount of time, then more energy and more fat will be expended.

Weight lifting exercises actually contribute to weight gain because they workout only specific muscle groups. A proper diet and a good amount of fat burning exercises should be added to your workout routines to avoid weight gain from weight lifting workouts.

To keep a balanced weight lifting workout, it is best to mix up weight lifting exercises with fat burning exercises such as bicycling or running. When coming up with a balanced schedule, it is also important to account for muscle rest time. That way, muscle groups that have been stressed during weight lifting workouts are given a chance to recover before they are stressed again.

It is also important to consider your overall workout goals and the time that you have available to put into the routines. Someone who wants to develop an overall fitness from scratch with a 3-day per week time availability will end up with a significantly different workout plan than a person who is in good shape and wants to build more strength in 5 workouts per week.

Most people who are looking to lose weight and gain better overall conditioning and fitness will get best results with a routine that matches about 2 parts of fat burning exercises with one part of muscle and strength building.

This means if you are looking at a 3 day regiment, you can do two days of fat burning and conditioning, and one day of weight lifting. If you have the time to work out on five days per week, you can do three days of fat burning and conditioning, and two days of weight lifting and strength building. For best results switch between fat burning and weight lifting days.

How I Lost 12 Lbs of Pure Fat In 2 Weeks And Kept It Off

December 9, 2009 by Chris Robinsson

About 1 year ago I was at my all time high, for my weight. I had a chubby belly and didn’t like what I was seeing in the mirror anymore. Late at night when I saw my big butt in the mirror I finally decided to do something about it.

In order to lose this weight I wanted to come online to search for a good fat loss solution. I had a lot of exerience with being active and athletic before, so it was nothing new to me, I’d just slumped off. The obvious signs for gaining weight were diet + lack of exercise, so I wanted to get back on track.

I found a lot of fat loss programs that would be effective to get started with, but I chose to only go with diet at first. I was eating fruit smoothies which taste great, and also tried to replace some meals with these drinks. I never had to feel that I was hungry, yet I got little enough energy to lose weight.

Another component was my workout. I added some good and solid high intense interval training to my weekly routine, as well as placed some body weight exercises into the mix. I was doing push-ups, pull-ups and squats for example. Another exercise is lunges. These exercises boosted my metabolism and overall fat burn during the day.

By basically eliminating sugar from my diet I was able to start dropping off pounds quickly. I also removed as much fried food and fatty foods as possible. I basically only took in veggies and those healthy juices I mentioned…

This new diet and a good exercise plan was the seceret to success. I was losing good amount of weight an in just under 15 days I was able to lose a total of 12 lbs! I was super excited to start seeing these results so I kept with the system for a few more months.

Since then I’ve maintained a health weight for myself and not seen any significant weight gain. I am basically staying at the weight I wanted to be at when I got started with my fat burning program and feel very glad about the results.

Is Atkins Diet Safe To Use If You Want To Lose Weight Fast?

September 11, 2009 by Richard Olson

Most people have heard of the Atkins diet, but may have no idea who Robert Atkins, the founder is. He was a doctor in the 70’s that was overweight, read a normal diet plan in the Journal of American Medicine and adapted it to fit his own needs and lost weight with it. He started writing books about his weight loss plan and the rest is history.

The Atkins diet is a low carbohydrate high protein diet. The Adkins food list may include such items as, unprocessed meats that include pork, lamb, beef, veal, mutton, ham, venison and sugar free bacon. It also includes poultry such as chicken, duck, goose and quail as well as unprocessed fish such as tuna, trout and catfish. You can also eat unprocessed shellfish like clams, oysters and shrimp.

Fats and some dairy products are accepted, you mainly are watching carbohydrates, which the body converts to sugar and stores as fat. Because most fruits contain natural sugar, these are restricted except for unsweetened berries, cherries and grapefruit. You have to watch salad dressings and condiments, normally sugar free are fine. The same is true of beverages and sweeteners. Basically, anything containing sugar or carbohydrates that can be converted to sugar are restricted on the Atkins diet.

Of course, if you can afford it the Atkins diet program does feature the use of its brand name quick and easy mixes, sugar free syrups, low-carbohydrate breakfast bars, diet shake mixes and various other products to aid you in weight loss. They also offer a 14-day starter kit to encourage you to learn how to start the Atkins diet. However, to really learn how to start the Atkins diet involves reading the books and finding out what you are really involving yourself in with this program to be successful. This can cause a problem for many individuals who want to try this diet program.

Since you are mainly counting carbohydrate grams on the Adkins diet you do not have to count calories. There are various stages, first is the induction phase. The induction phase severely restricts consumption of many foods, and involves hardly any carb grams. The next phase you can gradually begin to add more carbohydrate grams back, but it is still very limited.

There is an Atkins diet support system which offers online support via a newsletter, discussion groups, sample menus, a research library, topics of frequently asked questions and recipes. You can also get support from fellow Atkins dieters.

This diet does seem to work for a lot of people who want to shift extra pounds but the Atkins diet is not for everyone. If you have tried the Atkins diet already and either not lost any weight or put back on all the weight you did lose, it might be time to try another diet.

The most difficult aspect to a diet is maintaining a healthy weight, which means keeping the excess fat off. This is very true if you put on weight easily. The only way to guarantee the results is to commit yourself to follow a healthy diet and make lifestyle changes. Fat Loss 4 Idiots at the link below makes this process easy to understand as well as to follow and perhaps this diet plan is just what you have been looking for.

When you begin to wonder about the Atkins diet, you wonder who Atkins was. Atkins is actually doctor Robert Atkins. He was an overweight physician who read a diet in the Journal of the American Medical Association and revised it to suit his needs. He wrote a series of diet books about his success back in the 1970’s.

The Atkins diet is high in protein and low in carbohydrates. The permitted foods on the Atkins diet include poultry such as duck, goose, chicken and quail, unprocessed meats including lamb, beef, pork, mutton, veal, venison and ham and unprocessed fish such as trout, catfish and tuna. You are also allowed to eat unprocessed shellfish like shrimp, clams and oysters.

Eggs are also allowed on the food list as well as salad vegetables, most fats and some dairy products. Sugar free salad dressing is allowed as well as some other types of condiments. However, you must be careful about the beverages and sweeteners you may use while on this diet. Keep in mind while on the Atkins diet that the majority of fruits are restricted for consumption, with the exception of unsweetened strawberries, cherries, grapefruit, raspberries and cranberries.

Atkins has come out with prepackaged food, shakes and other items to go with this diet, if you can afford it. The 14-day starter kit is to help learn what is allowed on the Atkins diet. The main problem with this diet is, to be successful, it involves a lot of research, reading books and labels of carbohydrate gram counts, and can take a while to figure out what is low carb and what isn’t.

Since you are mainly counting carbohydrate grams on the Adkins diet you do not have to count calories. There are various stages, first is the induction phase. Yes You Can Get Back Your Pre-Pregnancy Body With A Healthy Diet

Most new mothers are interested in post-pregnancy diets and this applies whether they had a normal birth or a cesarean and whether or not they are breastfeeding. Perhaps you are concerned about the weight gain you experienced during pregnancy. You might wonder what happened to the shape you used to be but not know what diet to follow or which exercises to do in order to get it back.

Everyone is full of advice on the subject. However, you will find out, most physicians want you to consult them first for your health, as well as your baby’s. Weight loss after having a baby is going to be based on your specific needs, offering you a variety of choices and scheduled throughout the day. A new mother may be too stressed out to listen, but if they need to take off excess weight, the best advice is to relax and follow advice given to you.

When looking at after pregnancy weight loss diets, you should think about the hormones involved with pregnancy and this is true about any good weight loss diet. You will need a weight loss program which helps you to know how to burn fat whilst not suffering any energy loss. Keeping up with children can be both enjoyable and taxing and if you want to do this successfully you will also need to maintain well being and good health.

You cannot expect overnight results, as it took you a few months to put the weight on. If you follow a proper diet, it will start to show results, as long as you stay committed. If you try to take the weight off too quick, your hormones can make you more short-tempered and depressed, not how you want to be with your new baby. Because your body has gone through a lot of changes during your pregnancy, it has had to adjust to the additional weight.
