Working every day through the year can be quite a drag. So, when it is vacation time make sure you consider a wellness retreat. Not only will you be relaxed and pampered, but you will also likely leave much healthier. A wellness retreat is the perfect vacation for anyone stressed out from day to day life and needs a break from it all.
The term health spa used to apply pretty well to a place where you could go get pampered and enjoy some of the benefits of a healthy regimen. Then, fat farms came into the picture and turned our ideas of a health spa to boot camp for fat people where the diets are restrictive and dull and the exercise routines are punishing. Now, a health spa is more likely to be found in the pricey part of town and it\’s a place to get a facial and your nails done. This leaves us with the term wellness retreat when we are talking accommodations that will spoil you and add a healthy routine to your stay.
Pick any spot in the world and you will be able to find a wellness retreat.
If you are looking for one of the best wellness retreats you will want to consider the Canyon Ranch in Miami Beach. This retreat is on the ocean and there is a 70,000 square foot spa right in the middle of all of the lavish accommodations. At this wellness retreat you can indulge in massage, facials, fitness, and much more.
You might pick another wellness retreat for your vacation, like Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort and Spa in Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia. Located in a gorgeous Australian National Park, you can experience nature walks for therapy and spa treatment based on Aboriginal rituals. You can have your own out-of-body experience perched upon this cliff-top overlook where indulgence surpasses the corporeal.
If you prefer to stay in North America, you might choose Alive Health Resort, for your wellness retreat. Located in Kelowna, British Colombia, Alive Health Resort has a rustic charm that\’s hard to deny. It\’s cradled in the forests of the Monashee Mountains, with breath taking views and plenty of hiking and outdoor exercise for the back-to-nature type. Once you\’ve had your wellness retreat experience here, it will be difficult to return to the bustle and strife of the real world.
If you want to travel to a wellness retreat whose therapies include that of slowing down the aging process, you will be headed to the wine country of Bordeaux, France to Les Sources de Caudelie. You can experience massages and wraps that utilize, of all things, grape extracts. These therapies are said to enhance blood flow by strengthening blood vessels. A similar treatment is available from the inside out, as you are also encouraged to take part in the resort\’s wine tasting parties every week.
The resorts listed above are just some of the renowned wellness retreats available. Most of these can get quite expensive. However, there are wellness retreats that can fit most budgets. Make sure you shop around and find that one retreat that is perfect for you and your wallet.

Walt Disney World Holidays – Dining Strategies During the Christmas Season
December 5, 2009 by Nancy Bobby

Is a Disney trip in your future during the Walt Disney World holidays? A Disney World vacation during the Christmas season can be a very fun experience, with beautiful and festive decorations and events made even more special with that Disney magic…and of course good food. This article will share some specific things you may want to know about Disney World dining during the holidays, and discuss the best way to plan a Disney vacation to insure that you make the most of your dining budget as well as your equally valuable time.
Did you know that if you are traveling between Christmas and New Year’s, you will be visiting Disney World during the busiest time of the year? This basically means that you need to make dining plans ahead of time, and keep in mind that you will be visiting with many, many other people at the same time.
So make your dining plans in advance, and if they include any table service meals, make those Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) before you get to Disney World, and if you are going during Christmas week, preferably make them now.
Let’s talk about ADRs. Disney provides folks with the ability to make Advanced Dining Reservations far in advance, currently 180 days in advance. So people have been making ADRs for Christmas week for months. This means that the most popular restaurants and times fill quickly, especially for the big days of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. Can you just walk up and get a table during this week? Perhaps…but don’t hold your breath. Don’t take the chance, make your ADRs now if you want table service meals.
What do you do if you can’t get ADRs for any of your restaurant choices? All is not lost, because while the most popular ones at the parks may be full, it is likely that the ones at the hotels are still available. The resort hotel restaurants are frequently quite good, and it is a great way to see some of the lovely Holiday decorations at the resorts. Plus, it can be very nice to get away from the crowds at the parks for a few hours.
You can also think about eating meals at “off” times. Try having your main, table service meal for lunch instead of dinner. Eat early: lunch at 11, dinner at 5…or late: lunch at 2, dinner at 8. You may actually be able to get table service seating this way, and if you want counter service meals, the crowds are usually a little thinner this way, especially the earlier times.
Of course, typical advice about eating some meals in, especially if you have access to a kitchen, can be helpful. Many folks with these types of amenities in their accommodations actually do the entire turkey and fixings, which can be very nice and a great way to create some special memories….and save some money in the process.
What is the best way to plan a Disney vacation when it comes to meals during the Walt Disney World holidays? A little planning will pay off with a wonderful vacation that has an extra dose of holiday magic and provide a trip filled with special holiday memories.

How To Stop Wrinkles
December 3, 2009 by Rachel Ann

Take care – Wrinkles and pains are the dark side of the summer sun.
Oh – finally. Bright days, strong sunshine, birds singing and a the air seems clear and fresh. Outside the life-giving sun beckons with promises of warm holiday time, outdoors, impromptu gatherings and experiences. No doubt about that the life-giving force of light is of great importance for our mood and wellbeing. But no roses without thorns, and no sun without a shadow side.
The sun is harsh on the skin – and the series of threats ranges from itching, dehydration and increased wrinkle formation to severe burns and increased risk of cancer. But you can do much to get the full benefit of the sun, while you reduce the disadvantages: Common sense, healthy lifestyles and a little extra help for the body – both in terms of protecting and rebuilding. So taking care of your skin is something you should not take lightly.
20 square feet of sensitivity
The skin, which covers an area of approx 20 square feet, is your body’s largest organ and it is more than just surface. Indeed, the skin consists of three very different layers – and wrinkles that appear on the skin’s surface is actually formed due to changes under the skin’s surface. The three layers are called the epidermis, the leather skin (dermis) and the subcutaneous tissue, which is a layer of fat. Between these layers there are both blood vessels, hair roots, sweat glands and sebaceous glands.
Elastic – but not forever
The subcutaneous tissue consists mainly of a protein (collagen), which gives the skin structure and of fibers (elastin) that makes skin elastic. Vitamin C is an important part of the process of forming fibers. The elastic fibers are challenged over time due to various influences, both outside and inside: sun, wind, drying, smoking, diet, air pollution, X-rays and pesticides. Free radicals, which is aggressive oxygen, is a major cause of skin aging. But you can, to some extent neutralize the free radicals with antioxidants, both through your diet and through skin care.
Diet and care
Greedy vegetables, berries and fruit contains a large number of important antioxidants in the form of bioflavonoids, also called P-vitamin. In nature there are numerous – perhaps up to 20,000 different – bioflavonoids. They are water soluble and easily absorbed quickly into the body and has numerous beneficial features – including a halt to the wrinkle formation. So the battle against wrinkles starts with a good diet, and the best followed up with the right skincare products and dietary supplements.
Sun is not just light
Age, diet and external factors are crucial for the formation of wrinkles. And during summer the sun is an additional, external threat. Sun damage is mainly due to the invisible ultraviolet rays – and there are several types of them. They affect the skin differently and require different protection. The body builds self-defenses, among other things the skin becomes thicker, and pigments will be “induced” by the production of melanin. But the process takes time – and burdens, moreover, the skin, which risks being “overworked”. This is why you should help your skin with serious and consistent skin care. Before, during and after the sun’s challenges.

Keep Your Relationship Fresh With Variety

If I can make a suggestion if you have been dating somebody for a bit you really must plan a get away journey. You see, in relationships so many things become routine. Maybe you go to dinner a number of times, then soon you are in a Friday night dinner routine. Maybe you go to a movie once a month, but soon you are in the movie once a month habit.
The main thing that keeps a relationship interesting is variety. People actually need variety. Do you know that variety is something that literally scares people? It is, but yet well all still yearn for some sort of variety in our life. If you don’t give that variety you are not fulfilling your partners basic desires.
So what do you do to make this trip meaningful?
Well the first thing you have to do is find somewhere to go that differs from where you are. There is no reason to travel to some destination to do the same things you do at home. You want to go somewhere that really knocks the socks off your significant other or date. Now let me say this, it doesn’t have to be a trip to Italy or to Paris, but if you can afford it that would be exceedingly good.
Las Vegas is a great destination, just don’t go there anticipating matrimony, unless that’s part of the gig. A beach is always a great destination, you can look at places like Clearwater Florida which is charming, or you can go to Cocoa Beach. If you are close to an airport that has Allegiant airlines you can usually book flight to these places cheap.
There may be some other place that your other half has always wanted to go. One fun variety type thing you can do is take your date to an amusement park. They are usually relatively close all over the country. Take them on some roller coasters and really feed that thrill, variety bone.
If anything just look somewhere a few hours away that has something for you to do, even if it is going shopping. For instance Mall of America. If you want the best trip ever just pack your stuff and go, don’t make an plan. This really feeds the need for us to be spur-of-the-moment, even if you are not a impulsive person!
Make Your Proposal A Lasting Memory Of Your Marriage
July 7, 2009 by Edward Jacobsen

A year in the planning, my fiance, now wife, and I were taking a trip to Playa de Carmen for vacation. It was a long overdue respite for the both of us. We had a stressful year in our careers and our relationship was ripe for long-term commitment.
Just being in a tropical paradise would have been a sufficiently romantic place to pop the question, but I wanted to make it even more special. I wanted this to be a memory that would last as long as our live together.
To be able to pull my plan off I firstly hid clues around the resort. I then told my significant other that the resort was holding a treasure hunt for the patrons. Each clue would send us to the next and so on.
It took a while to get her into the game. She was worried about our dinner reservations and it was getting late. As we found each clue she finally began to get into the spirit as she thought we actually had a chance to win the game. She was practically running to the next clue after we found one.
At one point she sees another couple with a flier in hand appearing that they were looking for clues too. Perfect, the competition was on as my fiance is very competitive. Soon we were next to the last clue leading us to the beach.
I was careful that afternoon to plant, in a little clay heart shaped box, the engagement ring. I buried in the sand with a philodendron plant as a marker. I could only hope no one saw me bury it and would uncover the diamond ring.
Darkness was setting in and it was getting hard to see. I was staring to get nervous as I realized it was almost time for me to pop the question. The last clue had told us to seek out a small plant on the beach in the front of the pool area. It was hard to make her go in the right direction, but I kept insisting that this was the correct path.
As we stumblrd in the near dark I began to coax her towards where the plant was. I finally had to move towards it and yell that I thought I had found it. She scrambled over and picked up the plant and examined it. I told her to dig a little under where it had been. She did and found the box pretty easily. I sauntered onto one knee and when she opened the box I popped the question. She was dumbfounded and began to cry. She looke d at me and smiled and said yes I will marry you. It was a remarkable and fun proposal.
